Her Story

Maya was originally raised by a family who cared for her deeply; however, due to a lack of consistent preventative veterinary care during her development, several health issues went undetected. Recently, a domestic violence situation necessitated the immediate rehoming of Maya and her housemate. While her housemate was quickly placed, Maya's medical needs initially made her placement more difficult. Fortunately, through the support of a sponsor and dedicated volunteers, we have secured her initial veterinary examinations, diagnostic X-rays, and a supportive foster home.

Medical Status

Recent evaluations have confirmed that Maya has severe bilateral hip dysplasia and a suspected ligament tear in her right hind leg. Despite these challenges, she remains a resilient and affectionate dog.
